2009 has been a year of change, but also another good year for K.I.C.S, with two teams providing Playgroups for the whole year. With Dan finishing up in April, (who would have thought making coffee would be better than Playgroups!!), this really did leave quite a hole to fill. Thanks to Noel for coming along and assisting me to ensure that the bush runs continued for the year- I couldn't have done it without him.
Ron and Sue have been doing a great job providing Playgroups at all the closer to town venues, as well as assisting with some of the office duties. Unfortunately Ron and Sue won't be staying on with K.I.C.S in 2010, so we wish them well in their future endeavors.
So what's in store for K.I.C.S in 2010?
Well next year will see K.I.C.S shift in its organisational set up. I will be staying on as a Coordinator, then we will also have two teams working to provide the Playgroups. This change has been needed for quite some time now, as the size of K.I.C.S and range of services and projects we are involved in has grown quite a lot over the years. Having a town based Coordinator will certainly see things run in a more timely and efficient manner. In addition it will enable K.I.C.S to look into other funding opportunities and perhaps expand and enhance our service further.
Now, just to put other grapevine topics at rest- yes I am most definitely pregnant again! Unplanned and unexpected but apparently 'meant to be' baby number three is due in late March. And here I was thinking my life would be a little more relaxed now that I wouldn't be doing constant bush trips. . . I think the bush trips option is the easier one!!!
Thanks very much to everyone who participated in our AGM this year. Likewise, thank you to those Board members who finished up this year, in particular to Sue Chandler who has been no end of assistance as Chairperson for the last few years. We have some new members on the Board, welcome to you and I look forward to your input. Please take a moment to look over the new Board contact list.
I look forward to working with you all in my changed role for 2010, and helping K.I.C.S progress and continue in it's previous successful style.
Regards, Peta. |
