Campdraft & Event Request Form

KICS (Katherine Isolated Children's Service) is a traveling playgroup for rural and remote kids across the territory. We are also able to attend campdrafts and other remote events upon request. We love coming to these events as they are such an important part of our community. However, given these events are a little bit different from our usual playgroups, there are few points we'd like to go over. Please note, KICS is only able to offer morning playgroups between 9am-12pm.)

KICS is a Not-For-Profit

We rely on funding and donations to continuing hosting fun, play-based learning to kids and families on stations, in communities and remote townships/truckstops across our region. As providing event playgroups is outside our normal funded scope of service, we ask that committees or organisers offer a donation to cover some of the cost. We are able to send you an invoice for this donation.
Are you able to make a donation to KICS if we attend your event?
We appreciate it if you can include KICS logo on any list of sponsors or supporters. Are you able to do this? KICS will send a JPEG of our logo.

KICS is not a childminding service

We love having as many children as possible at our playgroups, however every child must be accompanied by a responsible adult as we are not a childminding service and can not take on duty of care. It's simply not safe. In the past, unattended children have been an issue at event playgroups. Due to this, we ask a couple of things.
If announcing KICS over the loud speaker or other event communication (Facebook/emails/etc), can you please include the disclaimer that all children must attend with a responsible adult.
Upon arrival, can the announcer's name and contact number (or someone announcer adjacent) be provided to our teams, so in the case of an emergency and an unattended child, we can notify the parents immediately.

A Safe Work/Play Environment

There are a couple of things that our team needs to be able to put on a safe and enjoyable playgroup for all. If, upon arrival, the team feels like they can not fulfil our Workplace Health and Safety requirements, they reserve the right to cancel or modify playgroup.
KICS will need a shaded space, that our team can drive up to (our team will have either a trailer or a caravan with playgroup equipment). This site should be a sensible distance from hazards (like stock, busy roads etc) and have water available for clean up (we understand if this can't be directly at our site, but should be within a reasonable distance). We kindly ask that your event committee provides a meal and drinking water for our team while they are at your event. Once playgroup has begun, our teams are not able to leave the KICS area and so we ask that someone from your event is able to bring them something to eat and drink, rather than provide meal vouchers or tickets.
